Well came to Katy to do some visiting since in the Houston area, driving by we decided to stop in Kongs Crab Shack it was a empty so there was some concern. As we were seated we decided to search for reviews. Yikes, what we do that for? Read one and it was TERRIBLE. So we decided to leave As we grabbed our things to run out (mind you this was AFTER we ordered) something said TRY It for yourself. (Thank goodness for jiminy cricket) lol We ordered the stuffed shrimp (Absolutely delicious) stuffed Crab (must I say it?.... DELICIOUS!) the Alaskan Crab boil spicy...... Very good a bit XTRA SPICY and the Alaskan snow crab was also ordered spicy (that had my nose running and the rim around my lips burning worth every bit of the burn. Ordered a couple of slushie drinks to wash everything down. Only complaint is you only get one potato and it's a small one. Now spicy was number three on their scale. I can't imagine a 5 or 10 number 3 knocks your boots off. Lol
I've been here several times since Christmas and I've asked every employer and new owners why Christmas decor is still up in April. This is ridiculous. Food is great but when I see this lack of attention in the restaurant I wonder what's going on in the kitchen.
Thumbs up for this one! It was a pleasant surprise. The place is super charming, it has good music and decor, and they have a full bar. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. I wouldn't use it for a date, but certainly for hanging out with friends or coworkers. They have pretty good deals for combos which is basically food by the pound, if your group is more than 3 I will certainly recommend you to do that. Food was fresh, flavorful, and well portioned. The service was very attentive, it felt like family owned, and very servicial. They have private parking and indoors and covered outdoors seating.
This place is a little gem not found by many. Good quality Cajun food. Great service. Good daily specials of raw oysters to boiled crabs, crawfish, etc. Definitely suggest looking into it.
